Oh it was much more broken than that. There was also a skill (Ancestors Rage? maybe?) that would do x damage for each nearby spirit to a maximum of x. However, it didn't recognize the maximum when it was all Pain spirits, so you were hitting astronomical numbers with that skill. One spell would hit for ~600 dmg or so. Literally it was an instakill for anyone in range.

So do I, Sol, so do I. <3
Jagged Way was just a slightly modded version of our Spirit Hex build so I would not call it truly innovative since it was built on another builds back.
D/Mos.
22 Flesh Golems was probably the most unique minion build.
As far as truly innovative builds go, Teleway ranks high on my personal list. Nothing like turtling into your base just cuz you don't even know what else to do and watch the 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 split just keep pouring in on you from all directions. You can't even kill one of them because they just keep popping back out. That was unique.

I doubt.
You were able to win when you were facing iway or group that didn't know what Mark of Pain does. And about 18 months ago there were pretty many groups who didn't move out of the AoE.
The good old days

Not really we didnt seek inspiration from any build at all when we were making and designing jagged basically it happened like this;
Overpowered paragon holding junk had been holding for 2+ weeks and we have been struggling to find solotions to knock them off the Altar. Our typical counter to it at the time 2 x Degen interupt rangers and 2 Necros with hexes wasnt able to knock them off Altars at all when we had bad teams on the other side.
Terra and me were on vent chatting away thinking of builds that had hexes because we had to have vocal in whatever build we tried and he brings up jagged bones saying he wanted to make a small minion army that could provide lots of energy for multiple necro's. At the time i was thinking this wont work we would get -15 dp at start of a match and would lack damage and i wasnt exactly sure the extra energy they would get would be that worth it.
We both grab some pvp chars and start playing around with jagged adding in some heroes and filling in hexes on the skill bars taking important stuff like miss hexes, vocal minority and reapers mark, we knew the best way to beat these paragons was to degen them because high damage didnt hurt them with all the armor buffs they had.
I suggest we need shutdown for divert hexes so we add a ranger with QZ remembering previous mesmer signet QZ builds we used to run succesfully we hoped our necros would cope energy wise and provide enough shutdown and energy problems to the opposition.
Eventually we grab another guildie and go into HA with 3 heroes and wipe the floor with most teams. Later that night it was full guild team and the next 2 or so months is history i guess. Put simply our goal was to find a hex build that had vocal and could help us deal with paragons and as such was created with a pretty clean slate in mind, so no its not a slightly modded anything.
True story
